the erotic and ancestral healing

I’ve been thinking about why PULSE, and why now. And how I feel group container is essential for transformation, healing, individual and collective liberation. Also about the intersection between the erotic arts and ancestral healing.

Here goes my scattered thoughts. My neurospicy mind at 10 PM post CRE ritual practice…

You can’t deny when you’re turned on.
The erotic is an access point to aliveness.
Once you touch that pulse of life, you can’t go back, you can’t kid yourself
You cant go back to playing small, to silencing yourself, to ignoring your gifts, to numbing out
Playing in the relational erotic field opens doorways to transformation- in how you love, how you work, how you create, and how you hold yourself.

There’s a reason why patriarchy exists and why shame in sex is so prevalent in our culture - to strip our erotic impulse is to strip our own power.

This is why relational healing is so important. Why sexual healing and healthy consciousness in sexuality, love, intimacy is vital. Why doing this work through the lens of ancestral healing - as in identifying where in our familial patterns did we lose ourselves and our connection to our vitality - is everything.

We do this work with tapping into our erotic pulse, so that we can call out bullshit - in our external life but most important in our internal navigation system - and reorient back to empowered choice.

Lastly, I’ll end on this quote by Audre Lorde, Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power
“The erotic has often been misnamed by men and used against women. It has been made into the confused, the trivial, the psychotic, the plasticized sensation. For this reason, we have often turned away from the exploration and consideration of the erotic as a source of power and information, confusing it with its opposite, the pornographic. But pornography is a direct denial of the power of the erotic, for it represents the suppression of true feeling. Pornography emphasizes sensation without feeling.

The erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings. It is an internal sense of satisfaction to which, once we have experienced it, we know we can aspire.”

I am beyond excited to explore these concepts in a relational co-created field PULSE

Applications are due October 21st.
